What Is BHRT?
BHRT (bioidentical hormone replacement therapy) restores the hormones your body has stopped making in the amounts it used to. The "bioidentical" part means the hormones we use are chemically identical to the ones your body already makes, not synthetic versions designed in a lab.
For women, that typically means estrogen, progesterone, testosterone, and DHEA, with thyroid and adrenal markers reviewed as part of every workup. Every protocol at Mint is dosed to your actual labs and adjusted based on how your body responds.
This is hormone care the way it should have been done for you the first time.
You Were Told It's Just Aging But It's Probably Your Hormones.
You feel tired but wired. You can't sleep through the night. Your weight won't budge no matter what you eat or how hard you train. Your mood swings catch you off guard. Your sex drive is gone. Your brain feels foggy. Your hair is thinning.
You went to your regular doctor. They ran a basic panel, told you everything looked normal, and sent you home with a prescription for an antidepressant or a referral to a specialist. Maybe you were even prescribed birth control as hormone replacement.
That panel didn't check your hormones the way they need to be checked.
Birth control is synthetic hormone replacement therapy that’s rarely dosed specifically to what your body needs and cannot be used the same way bioidentical hormones are.
Perimenopause starts in your late 30s for a lot of women, and most providers don't even mention it until you're in full menopause. Hormone shifts happen earlier than the medical mainstream wants to admit. The symptoms are real, your labs probably aren't telling the full story, and you deserve a provider who actually looks at the bigger picture.

What Our Patients Actually Say
Hormone Care Run by a Woman Who Gets It
Mint Aesthetics + Wellness is led by Dr. Sanjay Sundar, MD (Medical Director) and Rachel Sundar, RN (Founder), with Nurse Practitioner Nikki Goff, DNP, on the clinical team. Every BHRT protocol at Mint is overseen by a physician and built around bloodwork, not a questionnaire.
Rachel hosts the Ask Nurse Rachel YouTube channel where she walks viewers through bioidentical hormone replacement, perimenopause, peptides, and weight loss medications. The same education our patients get inside the clinic is published openly for anyone who needs it.

BHRT uses bioidentical hormones, meaning the hormones we replace are chemically identical to the ones your body already makes. Common protocols address estrogen, progesterone, testosterone, and DHEA, with thyroid and adrenal markers reviewed as part of every workup. BHRT is appropriate for women experiencing brain fog, fatigue, weight gain or weight loss resistance, sleep disruption, low sex drive, mood changes, hot flashes, night sweats, hair loss, irregular cycles, postmenopausal symptoms, or other signs of hormone imbalance during perimenopause, menopause, or earlier hormonal shifts.
Mint offers multiple delivery methods including creams, injections, oral medications, and pellets when clinically appropriate. The right delivery method depends on the patient's labs, lifestyle, and goals.
BHRT membership at Mint is $80 per month and includes all office visits, biometric analysis through the InBody scale, complimentary B-12 injections, and a 10% discount on peptides, weight loss, and aesthetic services. Medications run roughly $100 per month and labs typically range from $50 to $350, both of which may be billable through insurance. Initial wellness consults are $125, with follow-ups at $50 (both of which are also included in the BHRT membership).

Frequently Asked Questions
-
Traditional HRT often uses synthetic hormones in standardized doses. BHRT uses bioidentical hormones, which are chemically identical to the ones your body already makes, and the doses are based on your labs and symptoms instead of a template.
-
When physician-monitored with regular labs, BHRT has a strong safety profile. The studies that made everyone afraid of HRT in the early 2000s used synthetic hormones at high doses. Modern BHRT is dosed individually based on your lab values and adjusted as your body responds.
-
No. Perimenopause often starts in your late 30s and can last a decade or more. We see women starting BHRT in their late 30s, 40s, 50s, and beyond. If your symptoms are real, your age is not the gatekeeper.
Hormone imbalance can actually begin at any age. Common contributing factors include high levels of stress (physical or emotional especially if ongoing for 3 or more months), genetic predisposition, lifestyle factors (such as lack of sleep), and environmental factors.
-
Some labs are billable through your insurance. Medications often are too, depending on your plan. Memberships and clinical care at Mint are cash-pay. We accept both Care Credit and Cherry for payment flexibility.
-
Energy, sleep, and mood usually shift in the first 4 to 8 weeks. Body composition changes take longer, often 3 to 6 months. We sometimes repeat labs around the 3-month mark to adjust your protocol if needed.
-
Creams, injections, oral medications, and pellets when clinically appropriate. The right delivery method depends on your labs, your lifestyle, your absorption, and your goals.
-
Yes. Wellness consults, lab reviews, and follow-up visits can all be done by phone or Zoom.
-
Most lab ranges are designed to catch disease, not optimize wellness. We interpret your results in the context of your symptoms and goals, not just a reference range. If your numbers are technically normal but you feel terrible, that conversation is worth having.
-
Pellet-only clinics typically deliver one method, often without comprehensive lab follow-up. Mint offers multiple delivery options chosen based on your labs, your lifestyle, and your goals, with provider oversight and repeat labs built into your care.
