Dermal filler is hyaluronic acid (a substance your body already makes) injected under the skin to restore volume that's been lost, smooth deeper lines, and balance facial features. Hyaluronic acid binds to water, which is what gives skin its plumpness and bounce.
At Mint, we carry three FDA-approved filler brands: Restylane, Juvederm, and Versa. Each has slightly different properties (thickness, lift capacity, longevity) which lets us match the right filler to the right area of the face.

Avoid alcohol, fish oil, NSAIDs, and aggressive vitamin E for 48 hours to reduce bruising
Come hydrated
Plan around the swelling. Filler often looks "puffy" for 24 to 72 hours and settles into final shape over 2 weeks.

Most patients tolerate it well. We apply topical numbing first, and most fillers contain lidocaine. Lips are the most sensitive area but still very manageable.

Not the way we do it. Mint's whole approach is restraint and structure. If you're worried about looking overdone, tell us at the consult. We'd rather under-fill and have you come back than over-correct.

Yes. Hyaluronic acid fillers can be dissolved with an enzyme called hyaluronidase. We keep it on hand. If you ever want to remove or adjust filler (yours or someone else's work), we can help.
