What Is Peptide Therapy?

Peptides are short chains of amino acids that your body already makes. They are the messengers that tell your cells what to do: build muscle, burn fat, recover from a workout, repair tissue, fall asleep, regulate hunger, calm inflammation, and more.

As you age, your body makes less of these messengers. Peptide therapy gives them back. The right peptide for the right goal, dosed under medical supervision.

You've Been Outworking Your Recovery

You train hard. You eat clean. You're still not sleeping. Your knees ache. You can't put on muscle the way you used to. You wake up sore from yesterday's workout. You feel inflamed. You feel old.

Peptides won't replace the work you're putting in. They will help your body recover from it, build off of it, and respond to it the way it used to in your 20s.

How We Do Peptide Therapy at Mint

Step one | Book your wellness consult

Tell us what you actually want: more muscle, less fat, deeper sleep, faster recovery, sharper focus, joint relief, longevity. There's a peptide treatment plan for most of it.

Step two | Get the right Tests

Peptides are safe when they're matched correctly to your body and your goals. Some need baseline labs to dial in dosing. All of them need a real health history review, since certain peptides aren't right for patients with specific conditions or genetic predispositions. That's the difference between medical guidance and winging it with an online order.

Step three | Start your personalized treatment plan

Peptides come in different delivery methods, and we match yours to your goals and your lifestyle. Most are small daily injections at home. Others are taken orally, Selank comes as a nasal spray, and copper peptides like GHK-Cu can be applied topically. Most patients see effects in 2 to 6 weeks.

Who Peptide Therapy Is For

Peptides at Mint are for adults who want to:

  • Build muscle and recover faster from training

  • Burn fat without crashing energy

  • Sleep more deeply and wake up rested

  • Recover from injury, surgery, or chronic joint pain

  • Improve cognitive function and focus

  • Boost immune function

  • Support healthy aging and longevity

  • Optimize what hormone replacement is already doing for them

If you're already doing the work and want your body to respond the way it used to, peptides are usually the missing piece.

What's Included

  • Wellness consult to determine the right peptide for your goal

  • Lab work and biometric analysis to establish your baseline

  • Provider-recommended peptide prescription

  • Pharmacy-grade peptides shipped to your door or stocked in-clinic

  • Dosing schedule and injection training

  • Follow-up visits to track progress and adjust as needed

What to Expect

  • Week 1

Wellness consult usually includes biometric analysis and a discussion of health history, family history, goals, and lifestyle/environmental factors with the provider. In a few cases we may draw labs to ensure safety and optimal dosing. Often peptides can be ordered that day.

  • Week 2

Begin your treatment. Unlike online peptide companies, we schedule an in-person appointment when you start so a nurse can walk you through injections face to face. We reconstitute your medications and provide every supply you'll need (syringes, sharps container, alcohol wipes, all of it).

  • Week 3 to 8

Early effects. Sleep and recovery often improve first. Body composition, muscle, and inflammation markers shift over the next 2 to 3 months.

  • Month 3

Follow up with the provider for biometric analysis with the InBody scale (especially if fat loss or muscle gain are part of your goals), see how the treatment plan is going, and make any adjustments.

  • InBody Scale Tracking

Clients getting peptides at Mint can book biometric analysis with the InBody scale and we'll waive the fee. This is an important part of tracking how your body is responding to the peptides and your hard work at the gym.

What Our Patients Actually Say

Physician-Led Peptide Care, From Pharmacy-Grade Sources

Every peptide prescribed at Mint comes from a licensed compounding pharmacy. We do not source from gray-market vendors or online retailers, and we do not start a peptide treatment plan without a physician review, and do labs when it will help ensure safety and optimal results.

Our providers stay current on the full landscape of available peptides and can offer education, guidance, and clinical discussion around the ones most commonly used in wellness and longevity care.

That includes Sermorelin, Tesamorelin, CJC-1295 and Ipamorelin, GHK-Cu (the copper peptide, often called "Glow"), BPC-157 and Pentadeca Arginate (used alone or combined with TB-500 in what's often called the Wolverine Stack), MOTS-c, NAD+, GLP-1 options including Semaglutide, Tirzepatide, and Retatrutide, Semax, Selank, DSIP, and PT-141 (used alone or paired with oxytocin and/or tadalafil).

Injectable supplements that support peptide protocols include B-12, Glutathione, and Tri Immune Boost (glutathione paired with zinc and vitamin C).

Mint is led by Dr. Sanjay Sundar, MD (Medical Director) and Rachel Sundar, RN (Founder), with Nurse Practitioner Nikki Goff, DNP, on the clinical team. We've helped patients across the Quad Cities use peptides for everything from post-surgery recovery to athletic performance to longevity treatments. Rachel covers peptides openly on the Ask Nurse Rachel YouTube channel if you want to learn more before booking.

More About Peptide Therapy at Mint

Mint Aesthetics + Wellness offers physician-supervised peptide therapy at our Bettendorf, Iowa clinic and virtually for wellness patients across Iowa, Illinois, and the country. Peptides are short chains of amino acids that act as signaling molecules in the body, regulating processes like muscle growth, fat metabolism, tissue repair, sleep cycles, inflammation, immune function, and cognitive performance. Peptide production declines with age, and targeted peptide therapy can restore those signals to support recovery, body composition, longevity, and overall wellness.
