What Are Biostimulators?

Biostimulators aren't filler. They don't sit in your skin to add volume. They trigger your body to make its own collagen and elastin, the structural proteins that keep your skin firm, full, and supported when you're younger.

As you age, your body makes less of both. Skin gets thinner. Volume drops. Fine lines settle in. Biostimulators wake your body's natural production back up. The result is a refreshed, more youthful look that builds gradually over weeks and months.

At Mint, we offer four of the most respected biostimulators in aesthetic medicine: PRF (Platelet Rich Fibrinogen), EZGel, Radiesse (CaHa), and Sculptra (PLLA). Your injector picks the right product, or combination, based on your face and your goals.

You Want Real Results. Filler Isn't the Only Way.

Filler can be incredible when it's placed well. But it isn't always the right answer, and for some people, it isn't the answer at all.

If you don't want obvious added volume, if you want results that last longer than filler, if you're nervous about looking "done," or if you want improvement that looks like your skin actually got healthier (because it did), biostimulators are the option most clinics aren't telling you about.

Slower onset. Longer-lasting. Built in by your body, not placed in by an injector.

How We Do Biostimulators at Mint

Step 1 | Book your aesthetic consult.

Real facial analysis. Your injector looks at your bone structure, fat pads, muscle movement, and skin quality before recommending anything.

Step 2 | We pick the right product for you.

Sometimes it's one product, and often it's a combination, layered over a few sessions. The injection itself is quick and well-tolerated, with numbing as needed.

Step 3 | Your results build over weeks and months.

Unlike filler, biostimulators don't show up the day of. Your body needs time to respond. Over the following months, your skin gets firmer, your face gets more supported, and the structure underneath looks restored.

Biostimulators at Mint are for:

  • Adults who want natural-looking facial rejuvenation without obvious filler

  • Patients dealing with thinning skin, loss of structure, or volume loss

  • People who want results that last longer than traditional filler

  • Patients with a "disappearing" mid-face or jawline as they age

  • People with hand aging, neck laxity, or chest skin damage

  • Patients with acne scarring or skin texture concerns (with PRF and microneedling combos)

  • Patients dealing with thinning hair (with PRF scalp injections)

  • People who've had filler before and want something different next time

If you want immediate, dramatic volume, traditional filler is probably the right call. If you want gradual, natural improvement that compounds, biostimulators are for you.

What Our Patients Actually Say

Injectors Trained for the Long-Game Treatments

Biostimulators at Mint are placed by the same medical team that handles all our injectables: Dr. Sanjay Sundar, MD (Medical Director), Rachel Sundar, RN (Founder), and Nurse Practitioner Nikki Goff, DNP. Biostimulators are more technical than filler. Wrong plane, wrong depth, wrong product, and you get lumps or wasted product. Our injectors are trained in the specific protocols for each biostimulator and treat with the right tool for the right face, not whatever happens to be in stock.

More About Biostimulators at Mint

Mint Aesthetics + Wellness offers four biostimulator injectable treatments at our Bettendorf, Iowa clinic: PRF (Platelet Rich Fibrinogen), EZGel, Radiesse (calcium hydroxylapatite, also known as CaHa), and Sculptra (poly-L-lactic acid, also known as PLLA). Biostimulators differ from traditional hyaluronic acid fillers in how they work and how long they last. Rather than adding volume directly, biostimulators trigger your body's natural production of collagen and elastin, the structural proteins responsible for firm, full, youthful-looking skin.
